REPORT | KLDSA Athletes at the 5th Asian Indoor & Martial Art Games in Ashgabat!

Ashgabat | It is the first recorded history in KLDSA to have 1 couple nominated by the Olympic Council Malaysia to participate in the 5th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Turkmenistan. The MYDF National Latin defending Champion - Mr. Chua Zjen Fong & Ms. Evon Chong and the MYDF National Standard Defending Champion - MR. Edwin Teo Chee Seng & Kimberly Tan from JDSA were the 4 athletes representing MYDF in the games. \

Both Chua & Evon had been training and competing in Europe prior to this games and had did their very best in the Latin American section. They were able to finished 8th out of 13 in the Samba and 8th in the Paso Doble.

The CDM of this game is non other than the Deputy President of OCM - Dato' Mohd Nazifuddin Dato' Sri Mohd Najib. He had expressed his congratulations and pleased with their performance. After the games, Dato' Nazifuddin had asked Chua & Evon if they are able to compete in the 2019 SEA Games in Philippines. Chua replied that they will try their very best and make it to the games if possible. The couples however did mention they are planning for a family after 2017 and would certainly hope to come back to the professional competition scene.
