Belgrade, Serbia - 5 October 2024 | Cherry Yeo, a rising star from the Kuala Lumpur DanceSport Association (KLDSA), has achieved an extraordinary milestone by winning gold at the prestigious WDSF World Cup Solo Latin event, held in Belgrade, Serbia. Cherry, representing Malaysia as the sole athlete, delivered a stunning performance that secured her place as the 2024 World Cup Solo Latin Champion.
A Historic Win for Malaysia
At just 19 years old, Cherry Yeo's remarkable talent and dedication to DanceSport shone through on the international stage. Under the expert guidance of her coaches, Mr. Chua Zjen Fong and Ms. Evon Chong from MY DanceSport Academy, she outshone competitors from 14 other countries, including Hong Kong, Italy, and Serbia, to claim the top spot in the Solo Latin category. Cherry’s win is a historic achievement, making her the first Malaysian to capture the WDSF World Cup Solo Latin title.

After winning three gold medals in Spain last year, Cherry continued her winning streak with golds in Germany and London earlier this year.
