Singapore | The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has granted the approval and support for the newly formed DanceSport Asa (DSA) on 30th September 2019. The former Asian DanceSport Federation (ADSF) has since been removed from the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) due to multiple reasons and inability to comply with the rules. The OCA has also decided to revoked ADSF membership and recognize the new DSA.
With the new DSA in place, China will be leading the organization as the new elected president. More hopes and objectives were planed to be carried out in the near future to improve the Dancesport level in Asia.
DSA will be the sole representative DanceSport governing body in Asia, they have accepted 20 countries under them. Malaysia DanceSport Federation (MYDF) is also recognized and accepted by DSA.
Each national Olympic council (NOC) were formally informed about this new change and a full cooperation from each NOC were expected to comply with this new body.
