This is the 2nd KLDSA Malaysia Open DanceSport Championship 2017 organized by Kuala Lumpur DanceSport Championship. It is the 2nd year KLDSA is organizing a National Championship cum Malaysia Open. This championship features the best couples Malaysia and Overseas Athletes competing against each other to be the best of the best! Being OPEN to all Malaysians, one of it's aim is to give equal opportunity to all Malaysians to take part in this championship.

The Ministry of Education has been supporting this event since last year in hopes to increase the popularity for DanceSport among School Curricular activities. Students are encouraged to take part in this one of a kind DanceSport event recognized by MOE. This year the Director of MOE from Curricular & Arts department has agreed to sign the championship certificates. This will give greater advantage for all Malaysia School students to redeem their curriculum points from the Ministry of Education. This Championship is sanctioned by the Malaysia DanceSport Federation (MYDF), World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) and Asian DanceSport Federation (ADSF). It is also supported by the Ministry of Youth & Sports, National Sports Council and Sports Commissioner.

This Championship will also rank the top Latin & Standard couples in Malaysia Dancesport Federation. This will allow the federation to nominate the Top couples to participate in the coming World Championships and Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Turkmenistan.

Evolve Concept Mall@Ara Damansara has agreed to become the official Venue Sponsor. Where as, Peter & Vivian Tan - Owner of Bailando DanceSPort Academy from Johor Bahru has agreed to become the Main Sponsor for this event.
