2026 1 Murid 1 Sukan – Sukan Tarian (Fasa 1) Successfully Conducted at SMK Sinar Bintang

The 2026 1 Murid 1 Sukan – Sukan Tarian (Fasa 1) programme was jointly organised by the Kuala Lumpur Dancesport Association (KLDSA) and MY Dancesport Academy, with the support of the Jabatan Pendidikan Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur (JPWPKL). The programme was implemented by SMK Sinar Bintang as the hosting school and was conducted from 19 to 20 May 2026 at SMK Sinar Bintang.
The programme brought together 200 students from 25 secondary schools across Kuala Lumpur, providing participants with structured exposure to the fundamentals of Dancesport in line with the objectives of the 1 Murid 1 Sukan initiative, which aims to encourage active student participation in sports and promote holistic development through co-curricular engagement.

The final day of the programme was attended by Ms. Hasniza Binti Mohamed Salehan, Assistant Director of the Student Talent Development Unit, Jabatan Pendidikan Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur (JPWPKL). Her attendance underscored JPWPKL's continued support for the implementation of the 1 Murid 1 Sukan – Sukan Tarian programme and its commitment to promoting sports participation among students.
Throughout the programme, participants underwent practical training sessions conducted by experienced coaches, focusing on essential dancesport fundamentals including movement technique, musicality, coordination, teamwork, discipline, and self-confidence. The initiative also served as a platform to nurture students’ interest in Dancesport while promoting values of sportsmanship and healthy lifestyle practices.
The successful implementation of the programme was made possible through the close collaboration of KLDSA, MY Dancesport Academy, JPWPKL, SMK Sinar Bintang, participating schools, school administrators, teachers, coaches, and volunteers. KLDSA extends its sincere appreciation to all parties for their invaluable support and contributions in ensuring the smooth execution of the programme.
KLDSA remains committed to strengthening the development of Dancesport at the grassroots level through continued collaboration with educational institutions and strategic partners, in support of the national aspiration to promote sports participation among students.
