Team KLDSA Strikes Gold at the Asian Under 21 Dancesport Championship 2025

Sarawak, Malaysia — October 5, 2025 — Malaysia celebrates a proud moment on home ground as Tan Li Xuan was crowned Asian Champion in the Solo Latin Female Under 21 category at the Borneo Open International Dancesport Championship & Convention 2025, which also served as the Dancesport Asia (DSA) Asian Championship 2025.
The prestigious championship, held in Sarawak, brought together elite dancesport athletes from 22 participating countries, including Hong Kong, China , Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, South Korea, Japan, China, and many others. The event showcased some of Asia’s best rising talents in a spectacular celebration of rhythm, artistry, and athletic excellence.
Competing against some of Asia’s most talented young athletes, Tan Li Xuan delivered an outstanding performance that captivated both judges and audience members alike. Her dynamic expression, precise technique, and commanding stage presence earned her the prestigious championship title, marking a historic achievement for Malaysia in the regional dancesport scene.

The victory of the DSA Asian Championship Solo Latin Female Under 21 was witnessed by the Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Sarawak (Youth & Sports), YB Dato Gerald Rentap Jabu, and signifies more than a sporting victory — it reinforces Malaysia’s capability and enthusiasm in nurturing the art and athleticism of dancesport. As the nation looks ahead to hosting the 2027 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, such achievements contribute to the securance of several gold medals for Malaysia. Besides, it also raises awareness and strengthens Malaysia’s position to further promote dancesport as part of the region’s competitive landscape.
