NEWS | Ministry Of Education Renewing and Supporting KLDSA School DanceSport Program!


Putrajaya | The Ministry of Education is renewing and also supporting the KLDSA School Dance Program for 2018. This program was put into action during the year of 2016 and is currently in 16 schools spread across Kuala Lumpur to Klang Valley. The schools ranges in different levels from kindergartens to primary schools, secondary schools and to tertiary schools.

Since 2016, multiple students from these schools have represented the country in numerous national and international competitions. Two students namely Yap Chin Yee & Yap Chi Yew from SRI KDU Secondary School represented Malaysia in the World Youth Latin Championship in Riga, Latvia.

Others like, Benny Tan Yee Siang, ZAra Eliza Binti Ghazie Yeoh, Justin Tan Jun Hao and Emily Ng LI Shyuan competed in the recent 2017 World Junior II Latin in Bucharest Romania.

In 2016, Danny Tan Yee Chun, Kelly Tan Chee Min, Yap Chin Yee & Yao Chi Yew won a Gold and Silver medal in the Hong Kong Youth Open Latin.

These school student have achieved many great things such as champion titles, trophies and medals across countries such as Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Vietnam. KLDSA hopes to involve many more schools in this program to spread dancesport across the state.
