NEWS | 1st Malaysia WDSF Open DanceSport Championship 2018 Successfully held!
Kuala Lumpur | The 1st WDSF titled competition were successfully held in MABA stadium organized by Kuala Lumpur DanceSport Association and MY DanceSport Academy on the 18th of August 2018. Among the 11 countries and 5 states participated in this international championship were China, Macau. Chinese Taipei, Thailand, Kazakhstan, England, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, Singapore, and Japan. The other 5 states were Johor, Sarawak, Sabah, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.
The guest of honour that attended the championship were none other than Dato' Zaiton Binti Othman, the Malaysia Sports Commissioner and Dato' Mumtaz Jaafar, the Deputy President of the Olympic Council of Malaysia. There were approximately about 500 athletes from all over the world take came and took part in this championship.
It was the first time for KLDSA to host such big event that carries the WDSF title. The highlight of the event is when the WDSF Professional World Latin Champion - Gabrielle Goffredo and Anna Matus from Moldova came and performed their dance in the evening event.
The Grade A closed Latin event had a very close fight between the 3 top couples. The new emerging champion is Ooi Say Onn and Chong Kar Man from Negeri Sembilan where they were also participated in last year's Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat.
