Bailando Open Championship 2023 - A First Quarter Recap

4 October 2023 (Kuala Lumpur) | The Kuala Lumpur DanceSport Association (KLDSA) commenced the year 2023 on an exhilarating note with their participation in the Bailando Open Championship. Held on 18th February at Sunway College Johor Bahru, this competition marked the first quarter of the year and was a platform for our talented dancers to showcase their skills and passion.

Grade A Closed Latin and Standard: Triumph and Excellence

In the Grade A Closed Latin and Closed Standard categories, KLDSA athletes delivered exceptional performances, earning top honors. Tan Yee Siang & Bernice Iu Weng Tong left an indelible impression on both judges and the audience, securing the coveted 1st place in Grade A Closed Latin.


Adding to the momentous occasion, Ooi Say Keat & Che Xin Nee showcased their remarkable dancing skills by clinching a well-deserved 2nd place in Grade A Closed Latin. Meanwhile, in Grade A Closed Standard, Loh Yi Wei & Jarellyn Cheong Sze Xin exhibited their finesse and secured the 3rd place. Their unwavering dedication and hard work have truly paid off, marking a significant achievement.


Other Remarkable Achievements:


KLDSA athletes achieved remarkable results across various categories:

  • Lee Gao Xiang & Zoe Tan Zi Wei exhibited their versatility by achieving 4th place in Grade A Closed Latin, 4th place in Grade A Closed Standard, and 3rd place in Grade A Open Standard.

  • Ng Ze Yu & Yap Wan Xin displayed their prowess in Youth A Open Latin and Youth A Open Standard, both securing 2nd place.

  • Anson Phang Jun Keat & Cherry Yeo Xiao Wei showcased their incredible skills by achieving 3rd place in Youth A Open Latin and 2nd place in Youth B Open Latin.

  • Ooi Ken Vin & Ooi Bo Zuen demonstrated their talent with a 6th place finish in Grade A Closed Latin, 6th place in Grade A Closed Standard, and 4th place in Grade A Open Standard.
