Bailando Open Championship 2025: KLDSA Secures 8 Gold in Stellar Performance

The Bailando Open Championship 2025, held from 4 to 6 April at Paradigm Mall Convention Center, Johor Bahru, brought together 37 solo dancers and 6 couples representing Kuala Lumpur Dancesport Association (KLDSA). Over three days of competition, athletes showcased their skills across both Latin and Standard styles in highly contested fields, earning a combined total of 8 Gold, 6 Silver, and 5 Bronze medals for the team.
Notable Solo Achievements
Bernice Iu Weng Tong – Double Champion (WDSF Open Solo Latin Female Adult & MYDF Closed Solo Latin Female Adult).
Chew Yun Han – Champion (MYDF Closed Solo Latin Female Junior 2).
Grace Elizabeth Si Mei – MYDF Closed Solo Latin Female Junior 1 2nd Runner Up + multiple semi-final placements.
Wong Xi Munn – Juvenile 2 Cha ChaCha 2nd Runner Up, Samba 4th Place.
Ng Shi Qi, Elsa Lim Si Ting, Go Yee Sin – Multiple semi-final appearances in large Juvenile fields.

Ooi Ken Vin & Zoe Tan Zi Wei – MYDF Closed Grade A Latin Champion; WDSF International Open Latin Semi-Finalist.
Lee Chen Sheng & Hazel Tan Kah Yen – BOC Open Youth Latin Champion (Samba & Rumba), 1st Runner Up (Paso Doble).
Wong Zen Bin & Grace Elizabeth Si Mei – BOC Open Junior 1 Champion (Samba & Paso Doble).
Fong Zi Qian & Wong Xi Munn, Wong Zen Kit & Cecelia Leong Sze Ya – Multiple top-five finishes in Juvenile Latin & Standard.
