KLDSA Shines in the Second Quarter of 2023 with Outstanding Achievements

Competition 1: The Asian World DanceSport Festival 2023 (Osaka, Japan)
KLDSA kicked off the quarter by participating in the Asian World DanceSport Festival, held in Osaka, Japan, on May 14th, 2023. The athletes left their mark with exceptional performances:
Loh Yi Wei & Jarellyn Cheong Sze Xin
In the WDSF INTERNATIONAL OPEN-STANDARD event, they secured the 31st position out of 50, demonstrating their impressive skills.
In the JDSF U25-STANDARD category, they achieved a commendable 10th place out of 18 competitors, highlighting their promising future in dance.
Tan Yee Siang & Bernice Iu Weng Tong
In the WDSF Open Latin event, this dynamic duo earned an impressive 9th place out of 30 couples.
In the JDSF Under 25 Latin category, they showcased their prowess by securing the 3rd place out of 20, adding another feather to their cap.
Competition 2: Borneo Open International DanceSport Championship 2023 (Kuching, Sarawak)
The Borneo Open International DanceSport Championship in Kuching, Sarawak, from June 3rd to 4th, 2023, witnessed KLDSA athletes' stellar performances, resulting in approximately 86 medals won. Here are some of the notable achievements:
Loh Yi Wei & Jarellyn Cheong Sze Xin exhibited their dominance by clinching the 1st place in Adult A Open Standard, showcasing their remarkable skills.
Tan Yee Siang & Bernice Iu Weng Tong achieved a resounding victory, securing the 1st place in Adult A Open Latin, showcasing their captivating Latin dance routines.
Ooi Say Keat & Che Xin Nee demonstrated their grace and talent, earning the 2nd place in Adult A Open Latin.
Ooi Ken Vin & Zoe Tan Zi Wei displayed their versatility by securing the 1st place in Youth A Open Latin and the 2nd place in Youth A Open Standard.
Ng Ze Yu & Madeleine Lau Yu Xuan impressed the judges, securing the 1st place in Junior A Open Latin and the 3rd place in Youth A Open Standard.
Vincent Lee Chen Sheng & Chong Le Xuan showcased their talent, earning the 3rd place in Youth A Open Latin.
Wong Zen Bin & Grace Elizabeth Si Mei clinched the 1st place in Juvenile A Open Latin and the 1st place in Juvenile C Open Standard, displaying their incredible talent.
Cherry Yeo Xiao Wei shone in the Youth Solo A Open Latin category, securing the 1st place.

Competition 3: WDSF International Open (Szeged, Hungary)
KLDSA's journey in the second quarter also took them to Szeged, Hungary, for the WDSF International Open on June 10-11, 2023. Here, Ooi Say Keat & Che Xin Nee gave a remarkable performance, earning the 15th position out of 50 in the WDSF International Open event. In the Rising Stars Open Latin, they secured the 9th place out of 32, showcasing their excellence on the global stage.
Competition 4: The 3rd Hanoi Stars Open (Pro.G Cup Championship) (Hanoi, Vietnam)
As the quarter came to a close, KLDSA athletes participated in the 3rd Hanoi Stars Open in Hanoi, Vietnam, from July 7th to 9th, 2023. The notable achievements included Ooi Ken Vin & Zoe Tan Zi Wei securing the 4th place in WDSF Youth Open Latin and the 22nd place in WDSF Adult Open Latin. Additionally, Ng Ze Di exhibited promising performances by finishing 6th in both Juvenile A Open Standard and Juvenile C Open Standard.
