News | KLDSA Athletes Danced Their Way to Romania!
13 November 2022 (Kuala Lumpur) - Our very own KLDSA ahtletes, Tan Yee Siang & Bernice Iu Weng Tong, had recently been nominated by Malaysia DanceSport Federation (MYDF) to compete in the WDSF World Under 21 Latin Championships 2022 which took place in Sibiu, Romania on 5th & 6th November 2022.
Despite competing in their second international competition as a couple, they were the first Malaysian couple to make it into the second round of the world championships. They were placed 45th out of 88 couples from countries all over the world such as Spain, Finland, Austria, Italy, Moldova, France, Romania, Slovakia, Greece, Denmark, Serbia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Portugal, Netherlands, Croatia, Turkiye, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, Germany, Kazakhstan, and many more. Besides that, they have competed in two other events and also managed to perform their best with a final result of 16th in Rising Star Latin and 65th in WDSF World Open Latin.
It was a long and hectic journey to Sibiu, but they were still able to cope and perform their best and made our country proud. KLDSA congratulates and wish both of them all the best as they continue to strive in their upcoming competitions!
